Travel information

The Mercure Hotel Atrium  is located directly opposite to the Brunswick Central Station (Braunschweiger Hauptbahnhof).


Due to the good travel connections by train and car, Brunswick is also easy to reach from the closest airport: Hannover (ca. 65 km).

Shuttletransfer from the airport Hannover to Brunswick

It is possible to use a shuttle service from airport Hannover to Brunswick. You can find the shuttle service in the web.

At the south-east border of the city centre, the Brunswick Central Station (Braunschweiger Hauptbahnhof), which is connected to the ICE-Network, is positioned.

Brunswick has a very good connection to the federal highway system due to its location at the federal highway A2. In the west of Brunswick, the federal highway A7 is situated as a North-South-connection.


How to find the Mercure Hotel Atrium on the highway

From  North, East, West or Airport Hannover via A2 to exit „Braunschweig-Nord“ → via A39 to “Kreuz Braunschweig-Südwest → via A39 to exit „Braunschweig-Südstadt“ → direction „Braunschweig-Zentrum".

From South or from direction of Kassel / Salzgitter via A39 to “Kreuz Braunschweig-Südwest → via A39  to exit „Braunschweig-Südstadt“ → direction „Braunschweig-Zentrum".

Passport and visa requirements

Foreign visitors entering Germany must be in possession of a valid ID or passport. Delegates from countries requiring visas should apply to the German consular offices or diplomatic missions in their home countries. Contributors requesting a letter of invitation to include with their visa application are required to register on line for the conference first and then contact the SPW 2011 local organising committee via email:
