The Helmholtz-Fonds e. V. is recognised by the Finanzamt Braunschweig (Tax Office Braunschweig) as a non-profit corporation for the statutory promotion of science and is exempt from Körperschaftssteuer (Corporate Tax) in accordance with Section 5, Subsection 1, No. 9 KStG (Corporate Tax Act) and from Gewerbesteuer (Occupation Tax) in accordance with Section 3, No. 6, GewStG (Occupation Tax Act), because it exclusively and directly serves non-profit purposes with tax privileges in the sense of Sections 51 ff of the Abgabenordnung (Fiscal Code).
